I have a soft spot in my heart for classic looking motorcycles. With the round headlight and exposed mechanical structure, this style of bike strums the modernist chord inside of me, creating the deep sound of function as true form. I find that the more a machine is built to achieve pure performance, the more functional the form becomes and this functionality becomes timeless design. A functional form, object, or idea is something that exists for a purpose and without this form, object, or idea it would not exist. This belief in itself defines timeless design. When you build something that exposes it’s mechanical structure you are revealing it’s pure form. Each element working in harmony, working as pieces to create a whole.
